Our Mission

Lebanon Mountain Biking Association aims to development and promotion a mediterranean sustainable adventure tourism. This project is funded by MEDUSA-Rene Moawad Foundation and it will develop three itineraries in Tannourine,
Qadisha and Kfardebiane for an advanced MTB cycling experience and will be designed in a modular
fashion to accommodate tours ranging from 1 to 5 days in duration.

Our Vision

Mountain bike travel tourism is growing globally. An assessment by the Institute for Regional Development and Location Management in 2015 found cycling as the fastest-growing Alpine tourism product. A recent report (Buning et al. 2019) also revealed that in the United States mountain biking ridership has grown at a rate of 2.5% annually. Also taken from this report is that the economic impact of the US cycling industry is estimated at US$81 billion annually, of which $71 billion is tourism-related, supporting over three-quarters of a million jobs. Reports (e.g. https://adventure.com/mtb-mountain-biking-saving-tiny- towns/) also indicate that this trend is global and that people `from the Himalayas to British Columbia’ are turning to mountain biking to boost their economies; `not only is mountain biking a serious business but it can change lives for the better and it does so both directly for people in the biking sector, and tangentially to the support services around mountain biking.

Our Goals

Our goal is to increase the size and variability of international tourism to Lebanon by proposing an alternate form of adventure tourism, enduro mountain biking, that leverages the existing physical infrastructure and small and medium enterprises
